About Einstein Forum Fellowship
The Einstein Forum and the Wittenstein Foundation present a fellowship opportunity tailored for exceptional young intellectuals aiming to embark on projects diverging from their previous research focus. The fellowship aims to bolster individuals who not only excel within their specialized field but also embrace interdisciplinary perspectives, inspired by Albert Einstein’s approach. Accommodation will be provided for five to six months at the garden cottage of Einstein’s summerhouse in Caputh, Brandenburg, conveniently located near the academic hubs of Potsdam and Berlin. Fellows will also receive a stipend of EUR 10,000 and travel expense reimbursement.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the Einstein Forum Fellowship in Germany online, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Candidates must be under 35 and hold a university degree in the humanities, in the social sciences, or in the natural sciences.
- Applications for 2024 should include a CV
- A two-page project proposal
- Two recommendation letters
- All documents must be received by June 1, 2024.
- At the end of the fellowship period, the fellow will be expected to present his or her project in a public lecture at the Einstein Forum and at the Daimler and Benz Foundation.
- A successful application must demonstrate the quality, originality, and feasibility of the proposed project, as well as the superior intellectual development of the applicant.
- It is not relevant whether the applicant has begun working toward, or currently holds, a PhD.
- The proposed project need not be entirely completed during the time of the fellowship but can be the beginning of a longer project.
